I was born in Galicia (Spain) in 1977. As an undergrad I studied Psychology at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, where I started to work on animal learning (classical conditioning) and human memory. I performed my PhD thesis work in the Laboratorio de Neurociencia (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) with Dr. Carlos Acuña, studying the neural correlates of perceptual decision-making in monkeys. I got my PhD in 2008 and stayed in the Laboratorio de Neurociencia for my first postdoc. My present scientific interest is how decision-related activity is represented, trial-by-trial, in large neuronal populations.
