Prof. Ravindranath is the founder and Chair of the Centre for Neuroscience of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
Her main area of interest is the study of pathogenic mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, Dr. Ravindranath is also known for her pioneering work on the xenobiotic metabolizing capability of the brain, with special reference to environmental toxins and psychoactive drugs.
The Indian Institute of Science is the leading public institute for research and higher education in science and technology in India, ranking first in both the “university” and “overall” categories of the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Professor Ravindranath will also talk about their activities.
