Mental time travel in rats and humans: remembering the past and planning for the future
The reason we remember things is to allow us to make better decisions in the future. This suggests that there is an important close relationship between memory and decision-making. Recent studies suggest that similar parts of the brain are responsible both for our ability to look into the past (memory) and for our ability to imagine the future (planning).
In this seminar, Dr. David Redish will explore just how the brain makes imagination…real!
