  7. A position is open in the Systems Neuroscience Lab at Champalimaud Research, for a Technical Manager. The selected candidate will integrate a diverse team of scientists studying the role of serotonin in decision-making in mice. More info about the lab’s research can be found here.

    Work to be performed

    The Technical Manager will be responsible for (i) helping to establish and maintain a common set of experimental apparatus for behavior and neural recordings, (ii) establishing procedures for standardizing, monitoring and troubleshooting experimental conditions, including animal subjects, surgical procedures, materials, etc, (iii) inventorise, organise and keep up to date records of resources.

    Essential requirements:

    > PhD in Neuroscience, Engineering or other relevant experimental research area;
    > Very strong technical and experimental skills;
    > Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
    > Strongly motivated and eager to work in teams;
    > Critical thinking and communication skills;
    > Fluency in English.

    Desirable requirements:

    > Experience in laboratory or project management.
