As part of the clinical activities, the ImmunoSurgery unit is looking to expand the clinical applied immunotherapy, systemic cellular / humoral immune responses directed against biologically and clinically relevant targets in malignancies. This includes also a more broader view concerning HDTs (host directed therapies) in general. The successful applicant is expected to be pivotal co-worker in the development and improvement of immune cell-based therapies for malignant diseases and host directed therapies.
Duties & Responsibilities
~ Excellent interaction in the preclinical and clinical field of immunological therapy of cancer, strong interface with a dedicated local team and international partners.
~ Strong engagement in clinical and preclinical communication in writing and organization.
~ Close interaction with clinical colleagues within immunotherapeutic programs, assist in writing clinical protocols.
~ ‘Deep dive’ analysis and interpretation of immune response, including DNA exome sequencing, RNAseq, structural and functional host immune responses.
~ Aid in identification and development of new pre-clinical processes and candidate targets for the biological therapy of cancer
~ T-cell expansion and tissue procurement / ex vivo tumor- host interaction analysis including GMP (good manufacturing process) experience / sensibility.
Qualifications & Skills
~ Strong knowledge in human T-cell and B-cell biology and immunology, T-and B-cell propagation for immunological therapies with emphasis on ex-vivo T-cell expansion, T-cell based therapy and antigen-driven cellularimmune responses.
~ Excellent knowledge and curiosity concerning current and future concepts in immunotherapy.
~ Excellent communication skills in writing reports / presentations / process development.
~ Expertise in clinical protocols and documentation / QC of scientific and clinical data.
~ Documented and well advanced practical and theoretical knowledge in (human) T-cell cloning, T-cell receptor, B-cell receptor structure / analysis and biology, DNA cloning and (vector, e.g. lentiviral) guided transfer of genetic material into recipient cells.
~ Knowledge in single cell analysis with different technologies
~ Very good knowledge in molecular technologies, recombinant protein expression, excellent knowledge in flow cytometry, T-cell sorting and gauging immune effector functions.
~ Team spirit and will to collaborate within the foundation and with our partner institutions with the possibility to travel for clinical, international projects.
~ Fluency in English and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
~ Strong organisational skills
